If the vehicle is a daily driver or a work truck, 35% on everything is the sweet spot — it's legal on every window, and with ceramic film you still get strong heat rejection. Going darker mostly buys privacy, not coolness. Many people run 35% up front and something darker on the rear glass, which Missouri allows.
Is darker tint cooler?
Not as much as people assume. Darkness is about visible light; heat is mostly infrared. A quality ceramic film rejects a large share of infrared at a light shade, which is why you don't have to break the law to stop cooking.
Will my finished window measure exactly the shade I pick?
Close, but the number that matters is film plus glass together. Automotive glass already blocks some light, so a 35% film on tinted factory glass reads lower on a meter. We measure the finished window rather than trusting the box, so what leaves our shop is what we said it would be.
Can I get this done with a wrap?
